The Picnic Project provides an opportunity for our volunteers and the courageous people we bake, donate and create for to meet and enjoy each other’s company, good food, live music & bonhomie! The idea is to create a freewheeling festival that celebrates cultural diversity and real time connection. Those who wish to bring food and drink to share are welcome to contribute, though this is not a necessity. We may be a few sandwiches short of a picnic but in catering terms, Home Kong Kitchen will ensure there is plenty of food and drink to go around!
A lot of the people we help often talk of feeling invisible. This is our chance to come together and show them that we not only see them, but we want to hang out with them. The picnics will be held on the last Saturday of every month in a country park, private club garden or beach location from May to September. Where transport is needed, we will oblige. We hope the picnic project will highlight the value of connecting with ourselves and each other and offer a unique and memorable staycation experience.
